Using internationally recognized best practices and a team based approach

Most of the services and methods used by First Step Georgia rely on a multi-disciplinary team that works together to assess each child and then creates individualized development plans specific to each child's situation, abilities, environment, and family situation.

The team of the professionals usually consists of a psychologist, a pediatrician, occupational therapist, speech therapist, early development teacher and social worker.

Many of the specialists at FSG have had training abroad and FSG strives to use modern approaches and methods while working with the children.

Many of our services, including the Day Care Centre and Early Intervention, are modelled on and take best practices from similar programs in other countries including Ireland and the US.

While FSG brings great expertise and experience to the development of a child, we also recognize that parents are critical in the process.  We seek to inform, educate, train, support and encourage parents to be involved as much as possible.
