Brief overview of First Step Georgia’s training courses
The goal of all of First Step Georgia’s training courses is to enhance and develop the knowledge and skills of all those people who work or live with children with special needs, familiarising them with local and international best practices.
We run training courses for
- Parents, guardians and caregivers of children with special needs
- Governmental and non-governmental employees working with people with special needs, including:

- Staff of childcare and educational institutions
Training modules
Main Modules:
1. Principles of care for disabled people;
2. Client-Centered Service;
3. Preparation of an individual development and service plan;
4. Management of challenging behavior;
5. First aid and healthy lifestyle;
6. Principles of occupational therapy;
7. The rights of children and the disabled;
8. Disabled people and social work.
Additional Modules:
1. Effective communication;
2. Stress management;
3. Crisis (traumatic and development) and associated challenges.
FIRST STEP GEORGIA’s training courses are flexible in terms of topics as well as time and resources. Concerned organizations may choose modules as needed.
